Hilltribe In The City

Hilltribe In The City is founded by Stuart Skversky and Grieg Philpot. The Foundation helps to provide hilltribe children with a safe and nurturing environment while they study at school in Chiang Mai.

Their main focus is on the children from Galiang (Karen) villages 4 hours south west of Chiang Mai or who have special circumstances which make them eligible for the Foundation’s care i.e. they may be orphaned, abandoned or very poor and unable to go to school.

Along with education, Hilltribe In The City will provide opportunities for experiences the children would never receive if they were unable to move from the village itself. Many of them receive what is called a non-formal education i.e. maybe there is a teacher for 5 days per month, depending on the weather and the condition of the road.
